As we complete the season of Epiphany and prepare for Lent, our readings remind us that Christ is the Light of the World, the long-expected Messiah. The Old Testament readings affirm the hope of Israel for Messiah, and the New Testament readings affirm the realization of this hope in Jesus Christ.
