Psalm 148; Isaiah 49:13-23; Matthew 18:1-14
By Christine O’Bert

Did your Christmas turn out exactly the way you’d hoped it would? Sometimes we find ourselves disappointed after Christmas; maybe we were too rushed, or got caught up in the moment and lost focus on why we were celebrating. Worst of all, perhaps someone in our family let us down.

Today’s passage from Isaiah reminds us that God is always focused on us, never forgetful or distracted. He is as attentive as a nursing mother. Our lives may be filled with things that derail our plans, but our Lord is ever faithful. “We are engraved on His palms.” We can freely “shout for joy” because our Lord is at our side in every situation. Unlike the things of this world, we can put all of our hope in Him because he promises “those who hope in me will not be disappointed.”

I encourage you to put your hope in the Lord today. He will never disappoint.
