Events and Activities for Summer 2022

BCC Summer August BINGO!

Wednesday Evenings from 6:30 – 7:45 we are gathering to discuss various chapters of the book Engage All Generations: A Strategic Toolkit for Creating Intergenerational Faith Communities.

Doing the readings will enrich your experience, but if are not able to do the readings for any reason, you are still encouraged to come and join the fellowship!

At the end of each day, notice where you saw God at work in the people, places, and spaces you interacted with throughout the day.  Close with this prayer, “God, you are already at work in our world! Help me to see what you’re doing and desire to be a part of it.”

Walk (or roll) & Pray: take a walk in your neighborhood. Allow God to show you the people or topics that you can pray for while you walk. Invite God to make your neighborhood a place of opportunity for you to share the good news!

If you’re not in the habit of praying before a meal, take time to thank God for the food you eat. Use this time to cultivate thankfulness for the nourishment He provides!

Walk & Talks are every Thursday night at 7pm starting in June. Meet in the front of the church ready to head out to walk and talk. Families, feel free to bring strollers or put your kids on bikes if that makes it more fun for them.

Begin each day with this short prayer: “This is the day the Lord has made! God, thank you for allowing me to be a part of what you’re doing.”

Drive by Dowling Elementary! Pray for the teachers in our community that serve in our schools and pray for the Every Meal team that loads up backpacks on Friday’s.

If you can’t drive by – look at their website and pray for what things you see.

Chose a place to walk, your neighborhood or maybe an street or neighborhood that is struggling in some way. As you walk, pray for the people that live, work or visit that area.

There a many wonderful places to eat or grab coffee in the Longfellow neighborhood. Two we would like to highlight this month are All Square restaurant and Wildflyer coffee shop.

All Square lives out the belief that those that have paid their debts are ALL SQUARE. Check out their website on how they help those who have been incarcerated to find their footing through work, education, and support.

Wildflyer coffee shop supports youth who are experiencing homelessness. Check out their website for more information about their mission to help struggling youth in our community.

Some resources for finding more names of God.

From BibleGateway: A list of name and scripture references for each name.

From Navigators: Praying the names of God.

Bethlehem Covenant has a long history of supporting missionaries around the world. We have photos and bios on our website of the missionaries we are currently supporting.

Join us on June 4th at 10am serving our local elementary school by cleaning up their grounds.  We will picnic together afterwards if you bring your own sandwich!

Consider how God loves you. Read Zephaniah 3:17.  Then be still and listen. How is God celebrating you? * Celebrate the God who celebrates you. Intentionally ask for the gift of appreciating yourself the way God does.
