Happy Valentines day,
There are several things to talk about this week; first of all, Children’s Ministries is hosting a pizza party this Sunday, Feb. 19 at 12:30pm. All our welcome to enjoy some free pizza and family fun. Unfortunately it looks like our hopes for sledding or ice skating will not be possible, but we’ll play some fun games here at church after we eat and have some great fellowship. If your family is planning to attend please fill out a party flyer with how many people will be attending in your family so we have an idea of how much pizza to order, you can also email me to RSVP.
This week in Pioneer Club the children will be learning about the family structure. The lesson is based from Genesis 1 when God sees that Adam needs companionship and creates Eve, thus creating the family structure to fill the earth with humanity. Families can be big and small and no matter what circumstance we find ourselves in God loves us and calls us each to be a vital part of our family.
In Sunday school we’re transitioning into our winter curriculum and continuing to memorize Psalm 8, February’s verse is Psalm 8:6 “You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet.” We’ve talked about our place in God’s creation and the responsibility we have as humans to cherish and take care of the works of God’s hands.
On a personal note, my wife Laura gave birth to our daughter Molly Elizabeth VanderMolen on Feb. 8 at 3:09am, she was 8 pounds 7 ounces and is doing very well, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I hope to see you all at our pizza party this Sunday and please remember to RSVP with me so I know how much to order.
