The forty days preceding Easter on the church calendar are called, “Lent.” It is a season for considering Christ’s journey to the cross and the great cost of salvation. Traditionally, the church marks the beginning of the season with “Ash Wednesday”, a service of worship where we consider our sin and mortality, and wear a mark of ashes on the forehead as a symbol of our repentance and the acknowledgement of our mortality.
This year’s service will be at 7pm in the sanctuary. Take note that our usual Wonderful Wednesday activities will be on hiatus this week except for adult choir which will meet at 6:15p this week.
A blessed Lent to you.
