Job Description: Ministry Coordinator
Hours: 5-7 hours per week
BACKGROUND
Bethlehem Covenant Church loves its kids. We’ve made intergenerational ministry and the Christian formation
our children and youth a high priority. One of the most distinctive characteristics of Bethlehem Covenant is its
warm “family” culture where people are loved, included, and connected. To that end, we are seeking an individual
that will love our kids well and lead a ministry to them that will bless the lives of not only individual students, but
the church and community. Bethlehem is a thriving, growing church in South Minneapolis (since 1922) with a staff
team who are committed to working and growing together as we seek to lead in a healthy, growing, and missional
way.
BCC is seeking a person who:
• Exhibits a growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus
• Provides a safe environment where kids can encounter God
• Intentional about growing an outreach-focused kids ministry that includes our childcare and surrounding
community
• An ability to collaborate with staff team and recruit/mobilize a volunteer team while supporting the vision
and growth of the Bethlehem Covenant community
• A discipling presence for our families that engages our kids spiritual formation as a part of the church
body
• Strong communication and organizational skills
Job responsibilities:
• Utilize Planning Center for scheduling, developing ministry teams, and fostering clear communication
with parents/grandparent/adults
• Recruit and scheduling nursery staff (paid individual)
• Schedule and resource kids’ ministry volunteers to provide age-appropriate Christian formation,
including curriculum, focused on biblical literacy, spiritual practices, and life application
• Implement adopted safety procedures with an eye towards the needs of a growing ministry
• Assess and maintain kids’ ministry areas, equipment, and supplies in coordination with Bethlehem
Childcare Center.
• Connect with new families and providing resourcing for next steps at BCC
• Encourage kids to serve in various activities of the church, including Sunday mornings
Key Relationships:
This position will be supervised by the Lead Pastor and will have support from the pastoral team, office staff,
pastoral relations committee, Christian formation commission, Kids’ ministry volunteers, and the director of our
Bethlehem childcare center.
