Job Description: Family Ministry Pastor/Part-Time: 20-25 hours

Bethlehem Covenant, located in South Minneapolis, is seeking to love God and love our neighbors. The Family Ministries Pastor will provide leadership and care for every aspect of kids ministry from newborn-5th grade. We are seeking an individual with experience in kids and family ministry, a heart of mentoring and discipleship, with a vision for our broader community. This position reports directly to the Lead Pastor.

This position is a leadership voice among our pastoral staff, families, and church community to help build an intergenerational church family. Through this role, they engage in ongoing opportunities for teaching, discipleship, and outreach. In addition, this individual will join our preaching team and will have teaching opportunities in our corporate worship.

BCC is seeking a person who:

  • Exhibits a growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus
  • Experience in pastoral leadership of a growing outreach-focused kids ministry and passionateabout sharing Jesus with others
  • An ability to collaborate with a diverse staff and recruit/mobilize a volunteer team whilesupporting the vision and growth of the Bethlehem Covenant community
  • A mentoring presence for our families, equipping them with tools to navigate their kids spiritualformation as well as opportunities to engage in serving others
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Job responsibilities:

Family Ministry

  • To nurture faith-filled learning and practices in our kids from birth-5th grade
  • To engage parents in opportunities and learning how to develop faith in their kids while alsoproviding opportunities to serve in our community
  • To look for and provide opportunities for outreach in our South Minneapolis community
  • To engage our intergenerational community into deeper levels of investment and awareness of ourkids and their families
  • Lead and develop a kids ministry team and support them in leading in their strengths and beingeffective in their volunteer roles
  • To build relationship and rhythms of connection with BCC Childcare
  • To maintain kids ministry spaces, supplies, and resources as well as the kids ministry budget

Pastoral Ministry

  • Meet with the pastoral team to discern and plan sermon themes
  • Preach as a part of a regular rotation
  • Perform some of the general pastoral ministries of the church (counseling, visitation, prayer)
  • Lead consistent with the vision and ministry of Bethlehem in the community
